Help Your Corporate Training Take Flight

We have five different types of leaders: the autocratic leader, which Steve Jobs utilized. This style is all about displaying your authority to the employees, and having the ability to make major decisions without the help of others. Next, we have the laissez-faire leader, like Herbert Hoover, who does not do a great deal of supervising and lets the employees make a lot of the decisions. Presidential candidate Donald Trump exhibits the leadership style of participative leadership. This includes taking the employees’ opinions into consideration, even though the final decision is the up to the leader. Next is transactional leadership. Joseph McCarthy is a great example of this leadership style. This is where the leader and employees set goals together, and once those goals are either met or they fail, the leader will either reward or punish. Last is transformational leadership, like that of Martin Luther King Jr., who leads their employees with one common goal in which they all wish to reach. All five of these leadership styles prove to be very useful in different situations. Whether you’re training a new team or working on completing a new project, it is important to choose which leadership style to embody in order to get the job done.
