“There just aren’t enough hours in the day.”
How many times have you heard, said, or thought that phrase?
In a hyper-fast paced world, we’re all increasingly time poor. Our to-do lists get longer and longer, not shorter. It’s a constant source of employee frustration.
We eat breakfast at our desks (if we eat it at all). We drink coffee on our way to work. We rush from meeting to meeting, constantly playing catch up with the workload that’s waiting for us back at our desks.
But in actual fact, there are plenty of hours in the day. Perhaps we just need to use them more wisely. There are various time management techniques and tools we can learn, to use our time better.
13 amazing time management apps
Whether you’re looking for time management apps to track time spent on different tasks, or apps that will help you be more productive with your time, you’ll find them in this list.
Time management apps (time tracking)
Harvest is a top rated, simple time tracking app. It also features fast online invoicing and powerful reporting software. It’s a super easy way to simplify employee timesheets and billing.
Monday.com allows you and your team to plan, organize, and track tasks in one visual, collaborative space. This is a time tracking app that could rapidly speed up your weekly meetings.

Time management apps (time enhancing)
So much time is wasted due to staff being unfamiliar with new software and processes. WalkMe is a Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) that encourages employees to learn and engage via real-time on-screen guidance.
This improves adoption time and training retention.
Todoist lets you assign action items to due dates. You can also tag them with different project labels. So, your marathon training could have a to-do list. And the employee training programs you’re delivering could each have a to-do list.
The app then displays the tasks from all lists according to the days they need to be done, so you can easily see what needs to happen and when.
You can add tasks from your desktop or phone. And as a fun incentive, you can rack up “Karma points” by consistently finishing tasks.
Our lives are coming into contact more and more with AI. Clara is the perfect example of artificial intelligence doing what it’s designed to do: make your life easier.
How much time do you spend trying to schedule meetings? Ever wish you had a personal assistant? Clara can be that for you. Just CC Clara on any email, then it’ll coordinate diaries and send out the meeting invites for you.
Chances are you’ve already come across Wunderlist, which is one of my favorite time management apps. Bought by Microsoft in 2015, Wunderlist keeps your whole team in the loop by letting you share, comment, and collaborate on any task or to-do list.
Another top time management app, Trello visualizes your projects as lists pinned to digital bulletin boards.
Each list is filled with individual “cards”, which can represent tasks, goals, or ideas. Team members can add comments, files, and labels to cards, so everyone is on the same page.
This is an awesome app for tracking the progress of big projects or organizing your latest brainstorming session.
If you find you or your colleagues are unproductive because of bad habits, Loop is the app to try out.
If you have a specific goal you want to achieve, set it within the app. Then you’ll be able to access dozens of behavior “recipes” to repeat on a daily basis. Over time, these good behaviors will become your new habits and help you to achieve your goal.

One of the seven barriers to organizational learning is short-term focus. Often employees are so bogged down in managing their day-to-day tasks, there’s no time to reflect on the bigger picture.
Incorporating some of these effective time management apps into your organization’s culture could actually pave the way for better training and development.
