Coaching

Individual employees are not perfect. Though others can be better than some, they still need focused attention. Coaching is a way to improve employee performance at both the individual level and at the group level. It involves a one ok one interaction with a coach or manager and in the process, there will be an assessment of the employee.
 
From the assessment, a focused approach to improve on weak and lacking area will be developed. The coaching interaction in this approach is the key in making the training successful. This is because the manager provides feedback and advice on areas of weakness for the employee. They work together to develop a plan to complete goals with an emphasis on strengths of the employee. Not only does this boost performance and growth for the employee, but also the relationship between the two parties.

 

At the group level, the coaching approach works much in the same way, but allows groups of employees, such as those who work in the same department, to have a collective goal setting and coaching on how to reach those goals. At times, combined individual and group coaching can amount to the greatest amount of employee performance improvement.

 

Feedback

Work without feedback is useless and does not do much to increase productivity. A lot of times, managers think that feedback is big money incentives. This is not always the case. Employees require immediate feedback following tasks in order to understand whether and what they need to improve on. Small incentives also work as feedback. Things such as paid days off, more enjoyable tasks, and expressed approval of performance go a long way to keep an employee’s morale high and improve employee performance. Feedback acts as an incentive to novitiate them to do more because they are valued by the company.

 

Employee Training

To improve performance, they must first have the skills and knowledge about company goals and the vision. Managers can watch employee training videos to get more ideas on how they can facilitate an effective training.

An effective employee training is fun as it is informative and involves elements of team work. Managers should work hand in hand with employees during the training to answer questions and assess the company’s performance and areas of improvement. This is helpful as it builds a sense of togetherness and a support system so that employees feel like they are a part of a larger system and that they must work productively to ensure the entire system works well.
